We have made dough, mostly bread, in a bread maker for years. We just never used the bake function, preferring to bake in the oven. When the bread maker died it made sense to switch to a dough maker. It took some time to get the timing right for our kitchen environment. We finally worked it out, but still not quite as good as the old bread maker was. The big flaw, the reason for the 3 rating, the mixing paddle creeps up. Every 2-3 times used the paddle will lift up. Sometimes just the littlest bit, other times completely off!
